Luna y Cielo Play Café + Spanish Learning Center
Luna y Cielo Play Café + Spanish Learning Center
LyC is raising $25k to secure
a location and begin our buildout.
ABOUT
Luna y Cielo Playroom + Spanish Learning Center in Chicago is a place where all children can learn about and celebrate different Latinx cultures, practice their Spanish, and just simply play. Our long term dream is to open a brick and mortar storefront to host bilingual play + Spanish classes. Although this pandemic has slowed down our dreams...it definitely has given us some time to pump the breaks a little and slowly build up our dream.

Brilliant Biliterates
This website is for you if you are:
–A parent who wishes to learn more about how to promote bilingualism, biliteracy and multicultural awareness among your children as they get older, perhaps because you have begun to see your child lose interest (or the capability) in communicating in their home language.
–A parent who wishes to introduce a second, or third language, to your child but are unsure what multilingual resources are available for children and adolescents.
–Secondary bilingual education teachers in search of high quality resources in the minority language that help promote the bilingual development of your students.
Specifically, in this website, you will find blog articles pertaining to bilingualism/multilingualism, linguistic and cultural ideologies, multicultural identity and other topics, particularly geared towards middle and high school children. You can also find authentic Spanish language resources for students from Grades 6-12, as well as resources in other languages such as French, Italian and Portuguese.
